Good omen for Ho Chi Minh City tourism
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2023, the number of visitors to Ho Chi Minh City has increased significantly, with more than 65,000 foreigners in particular, according to the municipal tourism department.

About 1.7 million visitors have arrived in the tourist areas of the city to enjoy different attractions. The accommodation establishments accommodated 250,000 people, which represents an estimated occupancy rate of 85%. Tourism receipts reached 6.3 trillion VND.

According to statistics, travel agencies in Ho Chi Minh City received around 23,000 tourists who came to discover different cities and provinces of the country during Têt du Chat 2023, for a turnover of some 148 billion VND.
The most popular destinations during this year’s Tet holiday are Phú Quôc Island in Kiên Giang (South), the high stations of Dà Lat in Lâm Dông (Central Highlands) and Sa Pa in Lào Cai (North)…
In addition, tour operators in the southern megacity served about 18,000 Vietnamese, the majority of whom traveled to Thailand, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Europe, the United States. The sector’s turnover was some 432 billion VND.
In addition, Ho Chi Minh City received around 3,500 foreigners, mainly from Thailand, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States…, with a turnover of some 27 billion VND .
With the development of new tourism products in many wards and districts of the city during the traditional Tet 2023, its travel agencies served about 18,000 visitors, with total revenue of 17 billion VND.
According to the representative of the Municipal Tourism Department, during the 2023 Lunar New Year holiday, attractions attracted a large number of visitors, such as the Dam Sen Cultural Park and the Suôi Tiên Tourist and Cultural Zone.

After eight days of opening, the 20e edition of the Nguyên Huê 2023 flower street, with the theme “Ho Chi Minh City: Spring of Happiness and Prosperity”, officially closed its doors on the evening of January 26.

Unlike the 2021 and 2022 editions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2023 Nguyên Huê Flower Street has returned to full opening as in previous years: no queues, no limit on the number of visitors, circulation in the two meanings… Therefore, this year’s event, which marks the 20e anniversary of this new cultural symbol of the city, received more than 1.2 million visitors during eight days of opening, a record since its creation.
Nguyên Huê Flower Street has affirmed its position as a cultural and spiritual product, indispensable on the occasion of every Lunar New Year in Ho Chi Minh City.
